Happy Cesar Chavez Day

Take a few minutes today to remember those who have worked so hard, so that we don't have to.

What a difference a few years make!

I met Matt when he became the bass player of The Erks. Back when he was what I like to call jigga-ho. We now work together a few days a week. (I work for his parents company). Today has been a quite day in the office. Sophia is here and Matts step-son Drew is here. Before it use to be dirty noisy venues, Hollywood Blvd and Sunset, late night Roscoe's after shows. Now we are parents. Infact Matt is going to have a daughter in just a few days. .

We (heart) Taylor!

We are so into American Idol this season. Not a show that we would usually watch but or some reason we love it. We sit there on our couch every week and critique every performance. Like who are we to judge have you ever heard Joey or I sing. And our favorite is Taylor Hicks. We cannot get enough of that guy. I will even admit that we vote for him too! I am seriously debating making Phi a onsie with I, a heart, and a picture of taylor!

Last night we watched the results show and we were pretty surprised to see Kevin go home. Was anyone else shocked by this. Sorry Chone, I know you were a Kevin fan! I really thought Lisa Tucker was out of there. I mean did you see the long shorts!?

Happy 10 Month B-day Phi!!

My baby girl is 10 months old today! After she did so great with some table food at Niko Niko we let her have some spaghetti with us last night! I think she enjoyed playing with the bowl more!

We love you Phi and we are going to celebrate your first birthday in just a few months!

Getting her grub on.

My little baby is so ready for some finger foods. Today we headed to Redlands to buy some new bedding for our bedroom. We finally found a set we both really liked. We were out longer than expected and we bought Phi some dinner and we headed to Niko Niko, a sushi place in Redlands. They always have great food, but today they were loving Phi. Infact they were loving her so much that one of the waitresses took our picture for a slide show that they show in the restaurant. So while we were eating I gave Phi an bit of edamame. She liked it okay. Then I gave her chunks of tofu from our miso soup. She LOVED it. Could not get enough. So if anyone knows how to cook tofu let me know! She also ate some white rice from my chop sticks and loved that too. I can't believe that my once tiny little bundle is ready to eat some people food. We also bought her 1st birthday card invitations. Still can't believe that it has been a whole year.

Well here is the bedding we bought. Thought I would take a picture because it will probably be the only time that the bed is made. Joey was under the covers less than a minute after this pictire was taken. Speaking of Joey, he had another eye doctor appointment and his eye is getting much better. He only has to put in drops once every 2 hours and only dilate his eye at night. Yea!

Happy Belated St. Patty's Day

Hey Peeps! Sorry for the lack of posts. This week was crazy. Work has been non-stop and I haven't had a second to post. Sorry, I know how annoying it is to check someones blog everyday and not find a new post. Sorry!

Well for St. Patrick's Day we went into Ontario to get me some new glasses. And ironically enough I ended up with black frames with a green accent to them. Well it was The Phi's first St. Patty's Day so we started her day with some green oatmeal!

Then we got her dressed for the day. Even her ponytail holders are green!
We went to Hooters for lunch. (long story here about Joey being more decisive and him joking and me calling him out on it)
F.Y.I. Their buffalo wings were not that great.
Well Hope you all had a great St. Patty's Day! We are off to Santa Barbara tonite. We are meeting with the caterer for the wedding tomorrow morning.

A Sippy Cup Drinking Fool

My kid is now a sippy cup drinking fool. She will drink water, juice, even formula out of a sippy cup. And not just the nuby ones, from any sippy cup. After all the agony and all the money spent on numerous types of cups it took a few drinks with the nuby's and now she will drink out of any of the cups we have bought. It is awsome. This could be the end of the bottle days as we know them. Oh to not have to wash another bottle nipple again. It is already 2:30ish and she has not had one bottle today. I wanted her to be off the bottle by one. Yes, looks like its going to happen! Go Phi!

Driving Paranoia

I have a huge problem. I am terrified to drive. Since the accident and getting the Jeep I have been a little more nervous than usual, but on Saturday it was full on panic attack mode. We were heading to Victoria Gardens Mall and when we stopped in Calimesa Joey asked me to drive. His eye was bothering him. So I did and it was awful. I am constantly waiting for someone to run into me. I was sitting in the drivers seat and my hands were sweating and my muscles were so still in my legs and my back. I am not sure what is causing this paranoia. It is so awful. I don't know if its from the accident, from driving a new car (i drove the neon for years and years and never felt like this), driving with the baby in the car, or because I don't really drive much these days. I use to be able to drive anywhere. Elaine and I use to drive to Hollywood and all over LA for shows, not to mention all the drives to SD. I don't know what to do about this.

joey went to the eye doctor again today and his eye is worse.

Back in the Day

I was reading a blog that I read everyday. Its a good one and I look forward to hearing about this persons life. Today she mentioned Sweet Pickle books. Oh man how I loved those books. We use to get them in the mail and I loved them. I can still hear my Mom reading to use from these books. "I'll do it .....tomorrow". My Mom read to us religiously. But thanks to her I have a love of reading. Without that love I never would have made it this far in school. She thought us all about the wonderful worlds and wonderful friends we can make by reading books. I will admit I don't read to Phi every night. I try to. She does have a lot of books and I buy her new ones all the time. I know that these sweet pickles books are either in the garage or in a box at the Moorpark house. I am going to need to bring those guys to Banning. Sophia is going to love them.

Computers Been Off Limits

My home computer has been off limits for almost a week. With Joey shutting himself in the room to stay in the dark I have not had a chance to get my pics from my camera to my computer. I was finally able to do that last night. There were some pics I wanted to share.

I gave Sophia her first "biter biscuit". Which is basically a cookie. She loved it! The smile says it all!

What else..hmm. Oh yea we bought these adorable sweaters from The Childrens Place. I loved them because they look like something I would wear. So even though she looks like dad she can dress like mom.
What else, what else? Oh yea we bought this completely inapproriate shirt for Phi. We could not resist.
And I know there is something else......
She Started Crawling!!!!
Yesterday afternoon when I got home from work she was waking up from a nap. So I put her on the floor to change her diaper. She was very very wiggly and after I finally got the diaper on she turned on her tummy and crawled away! I was shocked so I pulled her back to see if she would do it again. She could see her reflection in her closet doors and she started crawling toward that. So i moved her across the room and called Joey. With his one good eye he watched his daughter crawl across the room. It was so freakin awesome! So of course because we are awful parents who spoil the crap out of our kid we treked to our hang out (Target) and yes we got it for her....
We bought the "Know Your Name Elmo". We programmed it last night and it was very cool until about 7 this morning. It is programmed to know your kids schedule and on normal work days Phi is up at 7 am. Well today was not a normal work day, it was a stay at home with Dad day. I figuered that the doll only talked when its stomach or hand was pressed. So last night I put it on the rocking chair because I didn't want Phi to roll on it and have it wake her up. Well apparently you don't have to push its stomach or hand. At exactly 7am I heard through the baby monitor "Good Morning Sophia". I had to run in the room and turn it off before it woke her up.

What the F is happening to me?

Me, now.  So when I started this blog about 20 years ago it was a way to share my journey becoming a parent. I now have a 20 year old headin...
