Last night as we were driving through a windy canyon this was me. After a few minutes I angrily dropped my book and gave a big sigh. Joey looked over at me and said..
"You know you always get sick when you read in the car so why do you do it?"
I practically yelled back "I LOVE READING"
I really do. My perfect day would be coffee, rain and books. Last night I read this Sweet Valley Twins book for 2 reasons.
- I needed to make sure it was appropriate for Phi to read.
- When I was little I read every single one of the Sweet Valley Twin books. Multiple times.
The Sweet Valley Twin series was the one that made me fall in love with books. Like hard. What I loved so much was that every month a new book was released. While reading all about the time Jessica and Elizabeth thought their Mom was dying of cancer and Jessica uses that to her advantage and a way to snag the lead in the school play, I was reminded how much I really was involved in all the goings-ons in Sweet Valley. I related much more to the book nerd newspaper reporter horse back rider Elizabeth, than the shopaholic, Unicorn member, popularity is everything Jessica Wakefield.
After finishing this book (that my niece gave me) I put it on Phi's book shelf. I hope she reads it soon!
