Wake Up We're Going to Disneyland

A few Monday's ago Joey and I got to do something we have always wanted to do. We surprised the girls with a day at Disneyland. This is how the morning went down....

We were able to do this because of our wonderful cousin Yvette, who works at the Disneyland Hotel. At Thanksgiving she mentioned that she still had some passes to use before the end of the year. Joey and I jumped at the chance. Free tickets to Disneyland. Yea you didn't have to ask us twice. We kept the secret from the girls over the long weekend and it was so worth it.

We got to Downtown Disney at about 9am and waited almost an hour to meet up with Yvette. Do you know what it's like to sit with 2 kids just itching to get into the park. Yea....

Yvette got us in and headed back to work after big hugs from us! We jumped on the Monorail and headed into the park.

We picked a great day to go. All the lines were super short. We had just went in June and what a difference just a few months made for Louie. She was so excited this trip.

Here they are on Finding Nemo

Now Phi is a lot like her Dad, except when it comes to amusement park rides. She is a big chicken like her Mom. Since Phi is tall enough for all the rides at Disneyland now, Joey was determined to get her on all of them. It took a lot of convincing but he got her on the Matterhorn.

Of course she loved it.

Then onto the boats for "It's A Small World". This is my new favorite family picture.

It was so awesome to see Louie on these rides. She sat quietly on the ride. She didn't say anything but I have never seen her eyes so wide. Then after we got off each ride she talked non-stop about it. After Small World she kept saying how much she liked the singing dolls.

We hit up the Teacups. This always a Mom ride because Dad just can't do spinny rides. Check out Louie's crazy eyes.

Thanks to the internet Joey knew that the pizza place in Tomorrowland was the best and cheapest place to eat. Louie got a toddler meal of chicken, rice, applesauce and chocolate milk. Phi got a kids meal with pizza, carrots and chocolate milk, and Joey and I split a antipasto salad and chicken pasta dish and a large drink. Total for lunch was under $35.00. Not bad.

Then we headed over to the Starcade to meet the one and only......

Wreck-It Ralph!

Was seriously a highlight for me!

Then it was off to the other side of the park to Adventure land. A stop at the Tiki Tiki Room meant some Dole Whip.

Joey kept track of all the rides we got on.....

  • Monorail
  • Nemo Submarines
  • Matterhorn
  • Small World
  • Roger Rabbit Ride
  • Mickey's House
  • Chip & Dale's Tree House
  • Astro Blasters
  • Tiki Room
  • Jungle Cruise
  • Tarzan Tree House
  • Pirates of the Caribbean
  • Haunted Mansion
  • Splash Mountain

Wow! We really made the most of the day. It was about 5pm and we had one more stop to make....
