Looking over my shoulder

I have never ever been able to dress myself. I might as well be color blind when it comes to matching clothes. I have always always dressed for comfort over style. Mostly because I do not know the first thing about style. I stick with the jeans with a t-shirt and flip-flops or converse.

My BFF has been raving about her love for Stacy London and the show "What Not to Wear" on her facebook. She peaked my interest so I recorded a few episodes and watched. Great show but I am so the person they would ambush and teach how to dress. So now I am looking over my shoulder waiting for Stacy and Clinton to grab me and take me to a room where they throw away everything from my closet into a giant trash can.

So I have watched some more episodes and today while browsing I kept their tips in mind when it came to sleeve length and belts and stuff. This is what I thought worked. Did I get it right, or am I so far off?

Of course being the indecisive and the type who cannot spend money on myself without a lot of pushing from someone else I did not buy it. Instead I carried it around for about 20 minutes and then decided that the $20 could be better spent on something else. Oh well.

  1. dude that is a CUTE outfit! cari and i say you should go back and buy it tomorrow

  2. go back and buy it!!!! it looks so good! and only $20, where?

You didn't buy it? It's adorable! Stacy would be proud. JVS

  4. Adorable!

I am a WNTW addict, and you mosdef have the look pinned! Accenting your waist at the smallest point, an uber-flattering pencil skirt...

GIRL! Splurge on yourself! And may I say, ONLY $20?! That is bargain city!

OMG! Liz, you look amazing in that outfit. And for a whole outfit for freakin $20 bucks. You gotta go back and get it. Wow! You catch on good to the WNTW show. Great Job! So what did the Phi say about it?
    Love Tia Mary

Elissa... this is Ashley, Crystal's mysterious "roommate"! I just want to say that A) You look fantastic in that outfit, and $20 is basically chump change compared to how much you might spend on that ensemble somewhere else. And B) I absolutely adore that show... and TLC Channel in general.. and I actually nominated Crystal! She's just like you.. indecisive... well intentioned, but doesn't know what's right... and just will not spend money on herself. So, I say, treat yourself! You're a hard-working mamma and you deserve it!

  7. I love that show too. But I think I might smack Stacey with my chankla cuz she is kinda rude. I love Clinton, he is some hot gay booty. I have to say, I keep their advice in mind when I am out shopping. But I will never throw away my Vans and hoodies. Never!!

And the outfit was hot, chica!
