My little girl in a big chair
All alone for X-rays
Light so bright, gotta wear shades
Cleaning Time.
X-rays where we could see her baby teeth and her big girl teeth growing .
Cleaning done and while waiting for the dentist The Phi got to brush a fishes teeth.
And a bonus! They played her new favorite Christmas movie, Frosty the Snowman. Yes they had flat screens mounted to the ceiling.
The Phi did an amazing amazing job. Not even a look of hesitation or fear in her eyes. The dentist staff was awesome. The explained everything in a way that kids understand. The office was decorated in beautiful murals. The Phi was in the "under the sea" room. Her cleaning and check up went flawlessly. Her teeth looked great, no cavities and almost no plaque. She has all her teeth and won't be getting anymore until about 6 years old. Then they gave her a little bag filled with Spongebob toothpaste, a little dinosaur flosser, cinnamon dental floss, and a Mermaid Dora toothbrush. THEN she got to pick a prize from the treasure chest AND a sticker. The kid was stoked.
evidence of stokedness! (and of clean teeth!)
We could have been prouder of The Phi. As we got in the car I called my Mom to let her know how it all went. My Mom said oh so very nonchalantly that she was glad it went well with The Phi because when I was little I had to be "medicated" to have my teeth cleaned and checked. Oh man. That explains a lot. I hate the dentist with a passion that could set the world on fire.
And It is freaking snowing here right now. Like snow falling from the sky. Here. Now. I have never seen snow like this. Ever in my whole life. (Can you tell I am a California girl!)

I have a phobia about the dentist, so I tried to be very careful about not passing this on to my kids. It helps so much when you can take them to kid dentists, where they are all set up to make it less scary and uncomfortable for the kids.
ReplyDeleteI am totally jealous, though. I would love to watch Frosty the Snowman while having my teeth cleaned!
My kids are just like me; we LOVE the dentist. We're freaks, I know it.
ReplyDeleteSounds like an amazing children's dentist! I LOVE her sweatshirt by the way! Real cute!

ReplyDeleteOur family company makes Gripit Floss Holders - www.gripit.biz. We have parents tell us they floss their children's teeth with Gripits so they don't have to put adult fingers into small mouths. The kids then get interested in trying a Gripit themselves and a good flossing habit is started.
