We are Big Fans

We are now huge fans of the mid-week-mini-vacation. After an eventful Saturday night that included, good wine, Coach bags, Tiffany & Co. necklaces, an ER trip, and fondue, we were very ready for a little mini-vacation. We headed out on Sunday. Destination: Laughlin, NV. This was The Phi's first time out of state, so The Phi is not going national! The ride was long with lots of those dips that make your stomach turn. Of course my dare devil of a daughter loved that part. I was told not to expect much out of Laughlin and it was smaller than I envisioned, but we had a lot of fun. I mean 99 cent margaritas and $2 shrimp cocktails. Hell we were ready to move. We met up with the grandparents for a day and enjoyed buffets and shopping. The Phi of course was spoiled by the grandparents. We stayed at the Avi Resort and Hotel and the rooms were free and pretty spacious. It looks like a fairly new place and although it was a bit of a drive from the main drag it was nice. We even swam in the kiddie pool with The Phi. It was really nice to get away from a few days, just the 3 of us. To have some adventures and do things we wouldn't normally due. Even little things like drink Orange Julius and take pictures in one of those photo booths.
