How I Met PR Dad

Today it is the day to post about how you meet your "honey". Lets just start off by saying that I have never called PR Dad, "honey". Doesn't happen. We are those annoying couples that call each other "Babe". Yes just like Michael and Jan (The Office reference). Anyways if you ask PR Dad, "So how did you meet your amazingly talented and super cool wife?" He would answer "Who? Oh PR Mom! On the Internet". We have debated this fact many many many times. So here is my chance to tell the real story. Without him in the background yelling that we really me on the Internet. We did not "meet" on the Internet. We were not in a chat room or message board. But I will give him this, we got to know each other over late night instant message marathons- on the Internet. We met through a pop-punk band called The Erks. Many years ago, while at a Mest show in Hollywood my youngest sister and I met 2 guys named Eric and Marc. They were in the lobby of the venue passing out their little 3 song cd. We stopped and talked to them for while and we took the cd with us. My sister and I were on our way down to San Diego for another Mest show and we popped the CD into the Neon's cd player. We liked it. We liked it a lot. By the time we were in San Diego we were signing The Erks songs out then window. It helped that one of the songs was called "San Diego". We became fans and went to Erks shows, joined the street team and became friends with the guys. A few years later Marc left the band and auditions were held to find a replacement bass player. At this time somewhere in the CA desert, PR Dad and Uncle Matty were living together in a 2 bedroom apartment. Matt found out about this audition and told PR Dad about it. PR Dad was like "Hey I have heard of those guys. I have a demo that I got from them in my truck". So Matt auditioned and being the super awesome talented musician (or maybe The Erks were desperate) he become the bass player of the group. So at the next street team meeting (which was basically me and my sister) we met Matt and became fast friends. That summer The Erks played the Ernie Ball stage at Warped Tour. That day PR Dad was sitting at the Erks merchandise booth and just hanging out with Matt. He saw me for the first time. I would like to say sparks flew and he pursued me relentlessly, but that was not the case. I saw him for a brief second but it would not be the last encounter (duh obviously!) After Warped Tour more shows followed and PR Dad showed up to them all. He was quiet and handsome and quiet! Very quiet. Back in the desert PR Dad and Matt had their computers set up next to each other. And as I would IM with Matt, he would mention PR Dad and soon "Fowllikechicken" (him) and Judy23xxx (Me) were chatting it up on IM. And the really quite guy from the shows was funny. Like really really, lol-ing all the time, funny. We I was going through some tough time and he was there, to talk to and to make me laugh. We eventually moved from IM-ing to phone conversations, and then to meeting up and hanging out. The more we hung out, the more I wanted to be around him, until I had to be around him. We had our first kiss in the parking lot of a Norm's after a punk show at Chain Reaction. Then that Christmas he bought me a very very expensive purse and the rest as they say....is history. That is how I met my husband, my best friend and the love of my life.
