Last Celebration

Tonite we celebrate the big 3-0 one more time. PR Dad's side of the family is taking us out to dinner tonite! This should be the last celebration of my oldness. After this I just go on living my life as a 30 year old. This weekend looks like a mellow one for us. PR Dad is working all weekend and I even have laundry all done. So my future looks like, cleaning house, playing tea party with The Phi and knitting, knitting, knitting. I have figured out a way to combine my desk job with knitting. We send our RD's gifts for their birthdays and so I am knitting some scarves for the winter birthdays! I also have an order from my niece Chone for a doll sized blanket and pillow for her American girl doll. And she told me to "snap to it" so I got to get on that!

Now everyone please join me in a standing ovation for my comadre! (Are you on your feet clapping and whistling because this is big news!) My comadre Patricia is a recent PhD grad from UCLA and is currently a professor of Chicano Studies at a Cal State. She submitted her dissertation to the American Association of Hispanics in Higher Education / Educational Testing Service Dissertation Competition (aka AAHHE/ETS) and she won. First prize! Yes people this family is good looking and smart too!

Mom and Elaine got some material for the bed too, so I guess you dont have to snap to it to fast.
