A good start

I declare that today will be a grand day, for the Starbucks gods has blessed me this morning. As sitting in the car watching the clock and realizing I was going to be late to work, I waited for my turn at the drive-thru at Starbucks. I ordered my chai latte and a plain bagel when I was devastated to hear "sorry we are out of plain bagels, would you like a cinnamon raisin one instead". I resisted the urge to lecture this barista about why I do not eat raisins or grapes and instead just got the latte. Then I drove up to the window and the most wonderful barista in her green visor and apron asked me "sorry about the bagel. would you like a breakfast sandwich, on the house". Whoa! Of course I would. Now I know how marketing works. Starbucks just introduced these breakfast sandwiches a few months ago and they must not be selling good and giving them away is an attempt to get people hooked. But it was still a great way to start my morning!

  2. Hi Punk Rock Mom,

I am contacting you regarding a blog survey I am conducting. I am a Ph.D. candidate in Mass Communication at Penn State and my dissertation project consists of a survey that looks at women bloggers’ perceived motivations for and effects of their blogging.

I am sending the survey to a number of bloggers, and I would like to invite you to participate in it as well. Participation should take approximately 15 minutes of your time. I would appreciate it tremendously if you would be willing to take the survey. If you decide to do so, please follow the link below:

I would be very happy to share the findings of my study with you once it is completed!

If you have any questions or comments, please don’t hesitate to contact me!

    Thank you in advance,

    Carmen
