Decisions Decisions

So Joey and I are going to Hawaii for our honeymoon and we debating about how long we should go for. He wants to go for 7 days and I want to go for 5. Here is my main reason. This is the first time that we will be leaving Sophia for more than a few hours. She will be staying with my parents but I know that on Wednesday or so of our honeymoon I am going to want to come home and see my baby. I know that 4 more days away is going to be too much. I know that everywhere we go we are going to see things she would like to see and even worse other kids that may or may not resemble her. I know that I am going to miss her. Shoot, by the end of a work day without her, even after seeing her at lunchtime I miss her so much. So we thought we should take this dilemna to the masses and see what people think. So should we go for 7 days or 5?

My 2 cents....Definately 5 Days because it will feel like 7 when you two are totally alone. 5 days is perfect timing for you both to have fun and relax, and not too long away from Sophia... You are parents before honeymooners.

go for 6 days...the first day doesn't count b/c you are just arriving, adjusting, checking-in, and tired from the plane ride...then you have 4 fun-filled whole days, then leave the next day which would be the sixth...yes, you will always be parents before anything else but it's not like you are leaving sophia at daycare with a stranger...it's your mom for goddesses sake...who has been a mom for a whole lot longer than some of us... :) besides, sophia will not remember the difference between santa barbara beach sand or waikiki beach sand at her age...gosh, does this sound harsh or what?!? ~p

Good question. . . .we had a similiar dilemma recently when we jetted off to Vegas for a few days and left Elias with my parents. We were gone 4 days. I completely trusted my parents and he was fine the entire time, but we were much closer than Hawaii and could make it back home quickly if we needed to. 7 days may be a long time for your first time away from her. --Jess
