Lulu's Sans Lulu

Last night we got all dolled up. Like dresses and button up shirts. It was our 6th wedding anniversary and we had reservations! At a nice restaurant.

FOR 2!

That's right, just for 2.

We dropped these 2 with an awesome babysitter. Yes someone brave enough to take on these 2!

We headed to Palm Springs to try out this place....

Every time we pass this restaurant it is packed. It is the hot spot in Palm Springs these days. We parked and walked over and on the front door was a sign that said they were closing at 8pm for a private event. Since I knew I had not rented out the whole place my heart sank. We walked in and they assured us that we would be seated and served, just upstairs.
We sat at a table with candlelight looked over the menu and started our 3 course meals.

Joey started with the baby mixed green salad with orange vinaigrette. I went with the wild mushroom and white truffle soup.

It looks like cream of wheat but was SO much better.
For our main course I went with the Meatloaf a la Lulu with a mushroom sauce and Joey had the New York Steak, done Medium Rare. The food was really good.
You know a place is fancy when their mashed potatoes come like this!
And of course desserts!

Joey had the flourless chocolate cake and of course I had to have the Creme Brulee. Both were so yummy.

Towards the end of our meal the private event started up. There was even a DJ who was mixing Pharcyde with Sade. Nice!

The manager of the place stopped by our table and told us to mingle at the bar after our meal and enjoy a cocktail on the house. We didn't but that was super nice of him to offer.

Look at us. We ate warm food. Don't we look so relaxed?
We headed back to pick-up the kids and they were both happy as can be. Giggly even. And The Phi presented us with this piece of art work.

Icing on the cake.
