Love from Arizona

Awhile back I started following a blag called "Artful Chica's Studio". I know great name. She is an artist from Arizona who loves animals, has been married for over 18 years and also has a Grandma named "Josie". And we all know how kick-ass Grandma Josie's are!

Artful Chica shares her beautiful artwork, and poetry, shares pictures of her puppy Lola, and you get to listen to some great music when you visit her blog. (Sometimes I just leave her blog page open in the background while I work to listen to her music)

Well a few weeks ago she had a giveaway on her page and little ol' me won! A few weeks later this amazing little piece of gorgeousness arrived.

I love this piece so much. A small 2x4" painting of Frida on a bright red background. My hallway in my house is dedicated to Frida prints and pieces and this is going to be my favorite piece in there.

But wait....there was more....

Artful Chica being the amazing woman she is felt bad for making me wait for my painting so she included this in my package......

She has been sharing this wonderful series with her blog readers called "The Filter Girls" . They are women figures painted onto used coffee filters (you thought it was a tortilla didn't you?). I have admired all the pieces she has shown on her blog, but left a comment about this one. (If you know me, you know my love for anything Virgen de Guadalupe). I told her how I loved it and she remembered that comment and sent me this original piece. The rays around her are paintbrushes and delicately written on the bottom it says "art is sacred" Oh so true.

I can't even begin to tell you how honored and excited I am to have these pieces in my home.

Thank you so much Artful Chica for your very generous gifts. Know that they will be displayed in my home and are very much loved and appreciated by the three of us.
