it gets your right there

You know how there are certain types of commercials or movies that just get you right there. Right in the heart and make you instantly all weepy.

Well there are 2 types of music that really get PR Dad. They are both powerful and played with emotion.

One is drum lines. Yes I know half time is game time.

And the second type is mariachi music. There is a chain of restaurants out here called Pancho Villa's that offers decent food and a great live mariachi show. We had not been since The Phi joined our posse so a few weeks ago we headed out to see how The Phi would like some live and in her face mariachi music. She is not found of loudness and we really were pretty dang close to the stage and after we sat and ordered the music started and just like her Poppa, The Phi was......

well see for yourself.......

totally memorized.

She stared like that through every song and clapped like a crazy person after each one.

But this was the song that stuck with her. The one she asks to hear over and over....

I try to expose my kid to traditional Mexican music. You know get her in touch with her cultura, her roots, her brownness and this is what she walks away with! haha gotta love it.

I think she likes that song/video, because she can understand the words. GREAT STUFF!

  4. How sweet she is!

My grandmother and father were in mariachi bands and i remember them being a bit hypnotizing and fantastic. I think maybe because they are one of the last musical group genres that actually dress alike and put on a show. It makes me all fuzzy inside to hear *that* song in mariachi form - AWESOME!

    Thanks for sharing that!
