Weekend in Pictures

Another mellow and wonderful weekend in SB. The themes of the weekend were seafood and chicken coops.

We drove into Ojai on Saturday night. Our intentions were to pick up a rooster for the new chicken coop but the lady with the cock never called back. (haha I couldn't resist). Instead we had dinner at the Sea Fresh Market where a co-worker of Mom works. Here is The Phi and her ponytails checking out all the fresh fish. The place was small, but really good. The clam chowder was excelente!

From the moment my sister gave my Dad his gift certificate for chickens, he has been working non-stop on a chicken coop. Maybe strange to some, but perfectly normal for us. I grew up with a big chicken coop in the backyard.

The Phi lending a helping hand. The coop is even complete with a perch and a small ladder for the lazy chickens to get onto the perch. Next time we head up to SB there should be chickens! Poor Flip. They are going to drive him crazy!

Sunday afternoon was spent on Cabrillo at Art Walk. Lots of cool stuff as usual. People were selling their knitted and crocheted stuff for lots of $$. One mohair knitted scarf (which I could totally do) was selling for $115!!! After art walk we headed to Stearns Wharf for dinner at Longboards. On the beach every weekend a anti-war group sets up crosses for every US military who have died. Recently the death toll hit 3000 and this group announced that they will not add more crosses after 3000 because the impact of 4000 is the same as 3000. It is really an amazing sight.

At Longboards The Phi thought that the surf board shaped menu was a cell phone. Who does she think she is, Zack Morris?
