Summer Loving

We offically have booked the house for vacation this summer. And today I checked out the house we got online. There had pictures of all the rooms and the patio. As I flipped through the pictures I could imagine the family sitting at the table playing games, or outside eating BBQ. I could picture us sitting in the living room around the fire place laughing and talking. I could see Luis, Felix and Lili getting into that water for the first times in their lives. I could picture Joey smiling, happy and relaxed. I can picture The Phi in her life jacket learning how to swim. We have been going to Bass Lake since 1987 (i think!) so about 20 years. Elaine was about The Phi's age now when we first went. There have only been a few years that we did not go. Last year being one of them. But the times that my family has spent at Bass Lake and been some of the best of all our lives. We have a million happy and funny memories there. It is a week that we get to spend all together under one roof, getting away from the stresses our whatever our real lives has and time to relax and recharge and bond even more as a family. I cannot wait until this summer and we are there, together, being happy, swimming, eating. Where everyday we come home from the lake a little tanner and tired. Where we can nap and everyone helps watch the kids so the parents (cari and luis) can relax for the first time since last august. Bass Lake is a magically place for my family and we are now all counting the days until we pack the cars and caravan up the 5 to the most happiest place on earth for us.

That is an awesome view. I'm going to try my hardest to make it this year even if it is for a couple of days. Tommy

When my grandparents lived in Oakhurst, we went up there all the time. Bass Lake is absolutely wonderful, but even more enjoyable for me is Yosemite. It's number one on my list of favorite places to go. It's where I used to go to "center" myself.
