Driving Paranoia

I have a huge problem. I am terrified to drive. Since the accident and getting the Jeep I have been a little more nervous than usual, but on Saturday it was full on panic attack mode. We were heading to Victoria Gardens Mall and when we stopped in Calimesa Joey asked me to drive. His eye was bothering him. So I did and it was awful. I am constantly waiting for someone to run into me. I was sitting in the drivers seat and my hands were sweating and my muscles were so still in my legs and my back. I am not sure what is causing this paranoia. It is so awful. I don't know if its from the accident, from driving a new car (i drove the neon for years and years and never felt like this), driving with the baby in the car, or because I don't really drive much these days. I use to be able to drive anywhere. Elaine and I use to drive to Hollywood and all over LA for shows, not to mention all the drives to SD. I don't know what to do about this.

joey went to the eye doctor again today and his eye is worse.

Sounds like PTSD to me... Talk yourself through the fear as you sit behind the wheel. Maybe the accident only activated a different fear in you that is resurfacing now that time has gone by. Maybe you should sit behind the wheel when the car is not even running and just think through the feeling.
